To the Community of Duncanville and fellow believers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the Reformed Baptist Church of Duncanville in Duncanville, Texas.

Since 2008, we have been a small and faithful body to the Gospel of Christ.  Coming out of the charismatic movement and after years of searching, we found ourselves theologically in line with the 1689 London Baptist Confession. We proceeded to join the Texas Area Association of Reformed Baptist Churches (TAARBC) and continued in ministry service in Duncanville.

Having started as a church of singles, we've seen 18 weddings, the birth of 37 children, and the death of 2 of our own. We've gone from living rooms, to rented a bank building space, to the gymnasium of a city's recreation center.  We've had our good times and we've experienced our share of personal tragedy, and in all that, we have worked to stay true to the cause of Christ and the faithful ministry of the Gospel.

For quite some time the elders of the church have been in assessment, both personally and with regard to the church, and have come to the conclusion that December 17, 2017 will be our final service as a local assembly.  I know this news comes as a shock, especially to those who have been part of our local church body in the past.  This decision was not made easily, but we believe it is in the best interests of both the church body and its leadership.  The elders of the church have sought counsel from other leaders in TAARBC and they have been extremely supportive and insightful during this very difficult season.  It is our hope that in a few years, the Association can and will look at planting us again as a local church body in the south Dallas area.  Although some of our members may choose to seek fellowship and ministry at other churches, our sister church, Heritage Baptist Church in Mansfield, has made itself available to us, as have several other associated churches in the area. The Elders of these churches are men of wisdom and care and have been very reliable brothers during this transition.

The Elders welcome any questions or concerns during this time and hope that you'll continue to pray with us as we make this change.

For the Cause of Christ,

The Elders of the Reformed Baptist Church of Duncanville
